The iPhone 12 mini is the smallest of the new crop of iPhones. It also appears that it might be the most troublesome, at least for some user across multiple Reddit threads, Apple forums, and MacRumors.

The problem arises when users attempt to swipe up from their Lock Screen using a thumb or one specific finger. There are also delayed responses when attempting to use the flashlight or camera buttons while the phone is locked.

Some users, like Redditor dupontcircle, indicate they've even been unable to enter their phone passcode because of this sensitivity issue. Others, like KristiBrudmagnet, wondered if the problem stemmed from their usage of a screen protector, but it's happening to iPhone 12 mini owners with and without them.

As MacRumors notes, frustrated iPhone owners have theorized that the problem could be localized to a grounding or conduction issue, as some have been able to avoid it entirely when the phone is used without a case or plugged in and charging. Apple has yet to comment on the situation.
