Samsung Gear 2

The Samsung Gear 2 takes all of the activity tracking features of the Samsung Gear Fit and adds some genuine smartwatch functionality, like the ability to send messages, receive notifications, and run apps.

The Gear 2 measures 1.45 by 2.29 by 0.39 inches (HWD) and weighs 2.4 ounces (not counting the adjustable strap), making it slightly trimmer than its predecessor.

The Gear 2's strap features an adjustable folding clasp. It's easy to close and feels very secure, but not particularly comfortable.

The Gear 2 (left) has a much nicer screen than the Pebble Steel (right), but far less battery life.

You can swap the included strap out for any 22mm band of your choosing. This remedies one of my biggest problems with wearables, which is that they aren't particularly stylish.

There's a heart rate sensor on the inside of the watch face, which uses an optical sensor to measure the flow of blood through your veins.
