Sony Reveals List of Games Optimized for PS4 Pro

Have you been eyeing the PS4 Pro? You might be wondering which of your favorite games will be optimized to take advantage of the console's new specs, and now we have that information.

Sony just released a list of more than 30 titles (below) that will be updated to take advantage of the increased power and performance of the PS4 Pro the day the new console launches, Nov. 10. Some of the games below will be updated with Pro support, while more recent titles such as all of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare have Pro enhancements built right in from the start, Sony says.

Hitman, for instance, will offer a "whole new layer of detail" on PS4 Pro, developer IO Interactive says. That includes a bump in overall resolution, more detailed lighting effects, and improved reflective surfaces. The game will also leverage the PS4 Pro's extra memory to stream higher-quality textures, which means you'll see more detail than ever.

Ratchet & Clank players can also expect resolution improvements. If your TV supports it, you'll be able to play in HDR, and those with a 1080p set should also notice a "big increase" in image quality, according to developer Insomniac Games.

Sony promises that more than 45 games will be optimized for the PS4 Pro by the end of the year. That includes: Watch Dogs 2, Killing Floor 2, The Last Guardian, and Final Fantasy XV. The list will grow in early 2017 to include Nioh, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and For Honor. Plus, rest assured that all first-party software launched next year and beyond will, of course, take advantage of the PS4 Pro's features — including Gravity Rush 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and Gran Turismo Sport.

The Technology I Use

My little Florida beach bungalow is brimming with smart home tech. I have a smart speaker or display in every room, allowing me to control other connected devices by voice. The Nest Hub on my bedside table lets me set wake-up alarms, control my smart light bulbs, and set the temperature on my smart thermostat. I use the Amazon Echo Show 8 on my kitchen counter to browse recipes, reorder protein powder, check the weather, and watch the news while I do dishes.

Because I suffer from allergies, air purifiers are essential. My favorite model is the Dyson Purifier Cool TP07, which doubles as a fan and continuously sends indoor pollution data to its companion mobile app.

My pitbull Bradley sheds, so a good robot vacuum is a must. I currently use a premium Ecovacs Deebot that can both vacuum and mop, empty its own dustbin, and wash its own mop cloth.

For fitness, I like to mix up my routine with cycling, indoor rowing, running, and strength training in addition to yoga. I take classes on the Tonal 2 smart strength training machine, I row indoors on an Aviron machine, and track my beach runs with an Apple Watch while listening to music on my Apple AirPods Pro. On the weekends, I love riding e-bikes like the rugged, beach-friendly Aventon Aventure for fun and fitness.

My job involves a lot of virtual meetings, so a quality webcam, microphone, and ring light are important. I use the Jabra PanaCast 20 webcam, the Elgato Wave: 3 microphone, and a Yesker tripod ring light.

As for my preferred phone platform, I'm an iPhone person, but I've also extensively used Android for product testing.
