Pros & Cons

One way to reduce the number of devices you carry is to have some serve double-duty. The Logitech Cordless Presenter, for example, is a wireless remote for PowerPoint presentations and a mouse for your computer. Since it relies on Bluetooth, a radio-frequency system, you don't need a line-of-sight connection. One transceiver is built into the ergonomically savvy mouse, and another is mounted on a USB plug. Just stick the plug into your computer, turn on the Cordless Presenter, and the two devices will establish a link. It also has a laser pointer and a pair of scroll buttons. The bumps between the buttons are handy for scrolling in mouse mode, but a little tactile feedback might make them easier to use. With this in your bag of tricks, you won't need the projector's remote, and you can easily control your computer.
