What irks you? That's the question we posed to the analysts of the PCMag Labs, and boy are these folks irkable! But in this case we aren't talking about that minivan in front of you with the eternally flashing blinker or people who don't use coasters. While we could go on and on about the many things that bother us on a daily basis, this list is specific to our most fervent tech annoyances.
When the survey email went out, I requested that complainers reply to me and me only, as is appropriate on any widely circulating email. But leave it to a certain editor-in-chief to facetiously disregard directions and reply all. And once one person replies all, it opens the floodgates for others to do the same. Cue the onslaught of off-the-cuff emails you probably don't want piling up in your inbox. (If this makes your blood boil, read up on organization expert Jill Duffy's advice for how to cut down on unwanted email.)
Even as the email blitz was spiraling out of control, news reporter Damon Poeter replied that what irks him is "Not following the request to reply only to sender… oh snap!" And with that, the "reply alls" dried up. Phew.
So no doubt, there are plenty of things our parents, kids, co-workers, and even favorite tech companies do that drive us up the firewall. You probably have some of your own irritating tech habits. (Think we didn't see you touching that non-touch-screen desktop? Go wash your greasy fingers and think again.) Of course, we couldn't cover every little tech annoyance because that would take forever and some of you would surely grouse about that. But please, feel free to sound off in the comments section about tech annoyances that send you over the edge.
