Adobe Photoshop Mix (for iPad) Review

You need to sign into an Adobe ID before you can do anything with the app, but it can be a free account (which includes 2GB online storage).

Adobe throws in a few sample photos to get you started.

Enhance takes you to exposure, contrast, and the like; cutout lets you create a mask to place part of an image into another.

The selection of objects is automated, after which you can place it onto another photo as an overlay.

Here's my not-too-convincing overlay.

Mix's filters are more configurable than those of most mobile apps, especially in that you can selectively apply them to parts of the photo.

This tool lets you remove distracting objects; with a little more effort, I could have produced a cleaner result.

For its most advanced effects, Mix sends your image up to Adobe servers for processing.

The camera shake reduction tool is a marquee Photoshop tool, and clearly clears up some blurred pics.

This tool can reconfigure the perspective of an architectural photo shot in wide angle.

These powerful tools are surprisingly included in the free app.

You can send your edited photo to Photoshop.com or to your camera roll, but you can also email, print, and hook up your account to Facebook, Twitter, and Behance for direct sharing to those targets.
