When Apple first previewed its iOS 17 update at WWDC in June, some features were tipped to roll out by year's end rather than in September's formal launch. There was a chance they'd appear when iOS 17.2 dropped this week, but two of them have now officially been pushed to 2024.

Those looking to check out Apple Music collaborative playlists or use AirPlay in a hotel over the holidays will have to wait until the new year.

As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple's iOS 17 website now says AirPlay in your hotel room is "coming in an update in 2024." A December update to Apple's rundown of new features in iOS 17, meanwhile, also mentions that collaborative playlists launch in 2024.

The Apple Music feature lets you invite friends to join a playlist and add, reorder, and remove songs, similar to the Spotify Jam feature. It was initially included in the iOS 17.2 betas, but Apple removed it over spam and abuse concerns, 9to5Mac says.

AirPlay for hotel rooms will let travelers scan a QR code on room TVs to "securely share videos, photos, and music from your iPhone to the TV." Apple's AirPlay website says the rollout will start with select brands from IHG Hotels & Resorts, including Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, Hotel Indigo, and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts. Apple's also been working with LG, 9to5Mac says.

Keep an eye on upcoming iOS 17.3 betas for clues on when both features will drop.
