Amazon is ending support for its Cloud Cam indoor security camera.

As MacRumors reports, a Reddit user shared an email Amazon is sending out which explains how it intends to deactivate the Cloud Cam and all companion mobile apps later this year.

Launched in November 2017, the 1080p indoor security camera features night vision, motion detection, two-way audio, and wide viewing angles, plus Alexa integration and tiered subscriptions. The Key Edition is bundled with a smart lock that lets users take advantage of Amazon's in-home delivery service. But as the company turns its attention toward newer acquisitions like Ring and Blink, it's dispensing with the five-year-old Cloud Cam.

Users have until Dec. 2 to download available video recordings before their content history is erased. Those using Cloud Cam Key Edition as a Zigbee hub, meanwhile, should start considering other security options.

Amazon isn't sending customers away empty-handed, though. "To thank you for your continuous support and feedback, we would like to offer you a complimentary Blink Mini and one-year Blink Subscription Plus Plan," the email said. Those still using Cloud Cam Key Edition, meanwhile, are eligible for a Echo (4th Gen) smart speaker. Owners will be emailed instructions for redeeming their free device before the Dec. 2 deadline.
