Epic Games is going to send the money people spend on Fortnite to Ukraine.

The company says it's "committing all its Fortnite proceeds from March 20, 2022 through April 3, 2022 to humanitarian relief for people affected by the war in Ukraine." Epic Games also convinced Microsoft to donate the portion of in-game purchases made by Xbox players.

These proceeds will be donated to the United Nations World Food Programme, the United Nations Refugee Agency, UNICEF, and Direct Relief to start. (Epic Games says that it will use these funds to support other humanitarian relief organizations "in the coming weeks.")

The company says "all real-money Fortnite purchases"—including "V-Buck packs, Fortnite Crew, gifted Battle Passes, and cosmetic packs such as the Voidlander Pack sold for real money"—will count towards these efforts. Purchases made with the in-game V-Bucks currency will not.

More information about this effort is available via the Epic Games website. The company previously announced that it would halt sales in Russia in response to the country's invasion of Ukraine. Now it's directly supporting organizations helping Ukrainians during this conflict.
