The iPhone 11 Pro has a lot going for it. It has the same great 12MP cameras as the iPhone 11 Pro Max—a primary wide-angle lens, ultra-wide-angle lens, and a sort-of-but-not-exactly telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom in and out as well as 10x digital zoom. But it's a more manageable size and is less expensive.

With so much to like, it's likely to be the most popular phone in Apple's latest lineup. But it'll cost you at least $1,000, so the first thing you're going to need if you purchase one is a protective case. We've looked at lots and compiled some of the best ones we've found below.

Bellroy Phone Case

Leather cases are not always as sleek or well-tailored as this Bellroy one, which barely adds to the profile of the iPhone 11 Pro.

Moshi Altra

The textured finish of the Moshi Altra makes it hard to drop, but there's a wrist strap just in case you want some extra reassurance. You can also purchase a crossbody strap and accessories that work with its magnetic SnapTo system, like a wireless-charging car mount.

Casely Rainbow Stripes Color Block Case

There's something very early Apple logo about this Casely Rainbow Stripes Color Block Case. It's made of polycarbonate with TPU sides and has a fantastic feel.

BodyGuardz Momentum Case

With the BodyGuardz Momentum Case, the same materials that cushion your feet as you run cushion the iPhone 11 Pro in case it drops. There's also a removable wrist strap.

Case-Mate Wallet Folio

The Case-Mate Wallet Folio makes room for three cards and cash along with the iPhone 11 Pro.

LifeProof Fre

LifeProof lives up to its name with this case being waterproof, snow-proof, drop-proof, and dirt-proof with a design that covers ports and the screen.

Casery Jasper Agate

Bring a little earthly beauty to the aluminum iPhone 11 Pro with this case from Casery in Jasper Agate.

OtterBox Otter + Pop Symmetry Series Case

If you can't buy a phone case without picking out a PopSocket to attach to it, this one from OtterBox has you covered because it has one built right in.

Casetify Ramen by Poketo

This fun 80s pattern on the Casetify Ramen by Poketo gets even more playful if you choose to add the liquid neon sand option. It has a serious side, too, since it's made out of a proprietary two-layer, impact-resistant material.

Incipio NGP Pure

The Incipio NGP Pure is shockproof but also has a thin, simple design that shows off the nice color range it comes in.

Mous Limitless 3

The Mous Limitless 3.0 fits in dual SIM storage and works with magnetic accessories like a detachable wallet.

Mujjo Full Leather Case

This Mujjo case is made to be as blue as the waters off Monaco but it's also made to be a snug way to keep the iPhone 11 Pro safe.

Case-Mate Waterfall

The iPhone 11 Pro definitely lives up to the "professional" in its title with its photo skills but let it have a little fun, too, with the Case-Mate Waterfall.

Nomad Active Rugged Case

The Nomad Active Rugged Case is made of leather but still resists water.

Tech21 Studio Colour

Tech21's Studio Colour case comes in six colors and all of them offer a nice, clean design and actual cleanliness with antimicrobial protection.

Razer Arctech Slim Black

Razer is expanding beyond games but using its expertise in the area by making an iPhone 11 Pro case with heat dissipation.

Snakehive Vintage Honey Gold Leather Wallet

This honey-gold Snakehive wallet has vintage appeal and plenty of room to carry currency as well as the iPhone 11 Pro.

OtterBox Pro Defender Series Pro Screenless Edition Case

OtterBox cases protect your phone against plenty of things that can do it harm and the Pro Defender Series Pro Screenless Edition Case adds germs to that list since it has antimicrobial defense.

Totallee Thin iPhone 11 Pro Case

If you got a midnight green iPhone 11 Pro and want to show it off, the ultrathin Totallee Thin iPhone 11 Pro Case is the way to go.

Speck Presidio Clear + Glitter

The Speck Presidio Clear + Glitter case is especially striking on a black iPhone 11 Pro. It also has drop protection and is antimicrobial.

Waterfield Fused Suede Case

For the iPhone 11 Pro that doesn't need a case so much as a comfortable place to rest, consider the Waterfield Fused Suede Case.

Sonix Watercolor Leopard

If you view the iPhone 11 Pro as, in part, a fashion accessory, you can't go wrong covering it with a blush-tinted leopard case like this one from Sonix.

Vena vCommute iPhone 11 Pro Wallet Case

When you're commuting, you need access to train cards and a stand to watch your favorite shows. The Vena vCommute iPhone 11 Pro Wallet Case has both and is super durable.

The Best iPhone 11 Cases

If you opted for the iPhone 11, we have some case options for that Apple smartphone, too.

Senior Features Writer

My Experience

My title is Senior Features Writer, which is a license to write about absolutely anything if I can connect it to technology (I can). I’ve been at PCMag since 2011 and have covered the surveillance state, vaccination cards, ghost guns, voting, ISIS, art, fashion, film, design, gender bias, and more. You might have seen me on TV talking about these topics or heard me on your commute home on the radio or a podcast. Or maybe you’ve just seen my Bernie meme

I strive to explain topics that you might come across in the news but not fully understand, such as NFTs and meme stocks. I’ve had the pleasure of talking tech with Jeff Goldblum, Ang Lee, and other celebrities who have brought a different perspective to it. I put great care into writing gift guides and am always touched by the notes I get from people who’ve used them to choose presents that have been well-received. Though I love that I get to write about the tech industry every day, it’s touched by gender, racial, and socioeconomic inequality and I try to bring these topics to light.

Outside of PCMag, I write fiction, poetry, humor, and essays on culture.

My Areas of Expertise

  • Making incomprehensible tech news easy to understand
  • Expanding the boundaries of topics covered in the industry
  • Figuring out tips and tricks in apps and on devices and letting you know about them
  • Putting together gift guides for everyone in your life

The Technology I Use

All that gadgets is gold for me: my iPhone 11 Pro, my fifth-generation iPad that I use only for streaming videos and music, my iPad mini 4 that I like to take with me whenever I carry a bag that can fit it, and my MacBook Pro. Why are they all different shades of gold, though? What’s going on, Apple?

None of them quite live up to my two past loves: my LG Lotus LX600 phone and my Sony Walkman NW-E005 MP3 player.

I've never given up wired earbuds so I was ahead of all those trend pieces. I use a Mangotek Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack adapter to connect them to my phone.

I have had so many ebook readers, but I prefer paper to them all. Still, my Kindle Paperwhite is perfect for traveling or when I’m too impatient to wait for a book to be released in paperback.
