Gaze into the reflective surface of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+ and you'll see a beautiful, mostly glass phone that needs protecting.

Before we get to its surface though, let's take a look inside. The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ both charge at superfast speeds with a 45W charger, support 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6), and, of course, come with an S Pen.

Like most top-of-the-line phones, they're pricey; the Note 10 starts at $949, the 256GB model of the Note 10+ is $1,099, and the 512GB Note 10+ is $1,199. PCMag lead mobile analyst Sascha Segan recommends you protect that investment with a case, which also prevents smudges and makes handling the phone while using the S Pen easier.

We've got you covered, literally, with the choices below.

Note: A number of phone case makers are selling 5G-compatible versions for the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10. But the jury's still out on whether a case will hurt 5G performance.

Case-Mate Tough Groove

You won't lose any of the iridescence of your Galaxy Note 10 or 10+ with this Case-Mate case, but you will get a grip with the grooves.

Case-Mate Wallet Folio

The Case-Mate Wallet Folio is super slim but still holds cards and cash in addition to your Galaxy Note.

Incipio Tran5form

The Incipio Tran5form for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ is a clear choice and not just because it's translucent. It was designed not to stand in the way of a 5G network signal and affect performance.

LifeProof Next Case

If your Galaxy Note 10+ is going to go through a lot, think about investing in a LifeProof Next Case. It protects against rain, dirt, and snow and works with the brand's belt clip or armband mount.

LoveCases Samsung Note 10 Plant Phone Case

Maybe you love plants but not taking care of them. This LoveCases design has plenty of greenery to gaze at and also protects your Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.

Olixar X Ranger Survival Case

Your phone can handle plenty of things in your daily life, but not opening beer bottles or sawing through string. If those are things you want to be prepared for, get the Olixar X-Ranger Survival Case for your Galaxy Note 10 or Galaxy Note 10+.

OtterBox Defender

If you drop your phone, there's no reason to despair if it's outfitted in the OtterBox Defender, which protects the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ from spills and has port covers to keep dust and dirt out.

Samsung LED Cover Case

The lights on the back of this Samsung LED case for the Note 10 and Note 10+ blink on and off like beautiful stars when you put your phone screen down on its front.

Snakehive Vintage Bottle Green Leather Wallet

This very British-looking bottle-green Snakehive wallet can cover your Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+ in style. It also functions as a wallet.

Speck Presidio Grip

The Speck Presidio Grip is a perennial favorite for the grippiness advertised right in its name. The case, whether for the Note 10 or Note 10+, also has Microban to prevent bacteria from taking hold.

VRS Design Genuine Leather Diary

For a luxurious leather look that keeps the Galaxy Note 10 or Note 10+ safe from falls and carries your cards and cash, there's the VRS Design Diary.

Zizo Bolt Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Case

If you and your Galaxy Note 10+ are adventurous types, the Zizo Bolt Case is military-grade tough, comes with a lanyard, and has a 360-degree rotating belt clip.

Tech21 Evo Check

Check pattern? Check. Antimicrobial protection? Also check. The Tech21 Evo Check case has both expected and unexpected feature for your Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.

My Experience

My title is Senior Features Writer, which is a license to write about absolutely anything if I can connect it to technology (I can). I’ve been at PCMag since 2011 and have covered the surveillance state, vaccination cards, ghost guns, voting, ISIS, art, fashion, film, design, gender bias, and more. You might have seen me on TV talking about these topics or heard me on your commute home on the radio or a podcast. Or maybe you’ve just seen my Bernie meme

I strive to explain topics that you might come across in the news but not fully understand, such as NFTs and meme stocks. I’ve had the pleasure of talking tech with Jeff Goldblum, Ang Lee, and other celebrities who have brought a different perspective to it. I put great care into writing gift guides and am always touched by the notes I get from people who’ve used them to choose presents that have been well-received. Though I love that I get to write about the tech industry every day, it’s touched by gender, racial, and socioeconomic inequality and I try to bring these topics to light.

Outside of PCMag, I write fiction, poetry, humor, and essays on culture.

My Areas of Expertise

  • Making incomprehensible tech news easy to understand
  • Expanding the boundaries of topics covered in the industry
  • Figuring out tips and tricks in apps and on devices and letting you know about them
  • Putting together gift guides for everyone in your life

The Technology I Use

All that gadgets is gold for me: my iPhone 11 Pro, my fifth-generation iPad that I use only for streaming videos and music, my iPad mini 4 that I like to take with me whenever I carry a bag that can fit it, and my MacBook Pro. Why are they all different shades of gold, though? What’s going on, Apple?

None of them quite live up to my two past loves: my LG Lotus LX600 phone and my Sony Walkman NW-E005 MP3 player.

I've never given up wired earbuds so I was ahead of all those trend pieces. I use a Mangotek Lightning-to-3.5mm headphone jack adapter to connect them to my phone.

I have had so many ebook readers, but I prefer paper to them all. Still, my Kindle Paperwhite is perfect for traveling or when I’m too impatient to wait for a book to be released in paperback.
