The 1.55-inch, 288-by-192-pixel, capacitive touch-screen Mirasol display features 222ppi, and looks clear, if dim, both indoors and out. The display uses reflective light and interferometric modulation, which creates an interference of various color wavelengths to display only the color it needs to.

When you're not viewing the main display, the watch displays the date and time. There are 12 different watch faces available; to choose between them, you can swipe to the left or right on the gray band beneath the display.

For now, you can only get one in black, although Qualcomm is teasing images of a white model (pictured).

The display is especially ideal for reading in sunlight, but the screen also looks okay indoors, and you can read it in the dark with a bright backlight you can toggle by tapping the top of the wrist strap.

The Weather app pulls the current weather conditions and today's high and low from AccuWeather, and it figures out where you are with the phone's GPS radio.

To charge the watch, you press a button inside the dock, at which point a riser extends in slow motion. Place the watch on its right side, with the back panel against the riser, and you'll see the charging light turn red, indicating the watch is receiving charge.

The clasp is also quite stiff and difficult to unfasten once snapped shut, but at least the watch is comfortable to wear. It's still huge as far as regular watches go, but it's appreciably thin, in part thanks to the battery residing in the clasp underneath your wrist and not in the watch body itself.
