TripIt Travel Organizer Free (for Android) Review

TripIt is a powerful organizational tool built around an itinerary importing system. A must-have for a frequent traveler, its hefty Pro membership is probably too much for the average user.

Prop Options

Many of TripIt's Pro options are labeled, but not all of them are clear. Tapping any of these without a Pro account will pull up an ad to upgrade.

Homescreen

On the Samsung Galaxy SIII, TripIt takes full advantage of the screen size with a simple, elegant design.

Flights and More

TripIt stores several different pieces of trip information, including maps of specific areas. In this case, I can quickly pull up a map of a location I plan to visit.

TripIt Tablet

TripIt looks great on the Nexus 7, especially in landscape mode.

Alternate Flight

Pro users can find alternate flights at a tap. Unfortunately, TripIt leaves re-booking your flight up to you.

Maps

TripIt ties to Google Maps to provide navigation to airports, or whatever the next step in your trip may be.

Landscape View

Even with banner ads, TripIt looks great on a tablet. New panels of information slide from left to right with a tap. Unfortunately, the app does not recognize swipes for navigation.

Flight Status

Pro users have access to real-time flight monitoring.

Tablet Maps

On the Nexus 7, maps fill the whole screen and navigating is a breeze.
