Pandigital's 8" PanTouch Clear Digital Photo Frame offers a touch screen interface and video support, at a very aggressive price—less than $100, in fact. The $99.99 (direct) price buys some quirks—the user interface is a bit slow, there are some design issues, and you'll experience the occasional image-scaling problem—but they're not insurmountable if you're on a strict budget.

The 8-inch frame has a contemporary look that combines a dark wood border and a 1.5-inch wide off-white matte that surrounds the display itself, which, thanks to a .5 surround of clear plastic, appears to be floating within the wood frame. A glossy plastic layer covers the matte and the display and doubles as the frame's touch panel. The LCD itself measures 8 inches (diagonal), but with the matte and the wood border, the frame measures nearly double that: 15 inches (diagonal). The infrared (IR) receivers for the included remote control are visible at the top and bottom of the matte. And there's another minor eyesore—a USB cable to connect the touch-panel is visible through the clear plastic portion of the frame. The HP DreamScreen 100 and the Sony DPF-D70 7" Digital Photo Frame offer a much cleaner, slicker look.
