You don't need to see the logo to know that this digital photo frame is a Sony; the hefty price ($299 list), elegant design, and full feature set give that away. It is the most expensive wireless photo frame I've tested, but the 800-by-480-pixel widescreen Sony VAIO VGF-CP1 also offers the best value, taking full advantage of its Web connection, and offering Picasa photo feeds, news reports, and even full Web-browsing capabilities. This is an impressive piece of hardware. Only a few minor bugs keep it from earning a five-star rating.
The unit measures 5.2 by 6.9 by 1.4 inches (HWD), with an attractive 0.5-inch bezel around the display. This 7-inch, 800-by-480-pixel widescreen presents crisp, vibrant images, with bright colors and sharp details. Both the bezel and glossy screen are highly reflective, so you'll want to position the frame away from light sources to avoid distracting reflections. I like the fact that the 6-volt power pack is situated in the line cord—it isn't an ugly outlet-covering wall wart.
