Pros & Cons

    • Promising concept.
    • Works with a remote.
    • Expensive.
    • Noisy.
    • Heavy.
    • Stops frequently.
    • Leaves streaks.
    • Not cordless.
    • Can only use included cleaning formula.

Do you want a Roomba for your windows? That's essentially what the Ecovacs Winbot W730 aspires to be. But instead of a reliable, amusing little robot that cleans your floors, you get a semi-reliable little robot that, in our tests, squeegeed our windows for a couple of minutes before bumping into a corner and going into an error state. At least it's amusing. What isn't, however, is the steep $399.99 it will set you back, for the same results you can accomplish faster with a towel and a bottle of Windex. For that reason alone, we cannot recommend the Winbot 7 to anyone but the most robo-curious.

Design and Features

The Winbot most closely resembles a thick bathroom scale, with a handle on top and a series of driving treads on the bottom. It's not the most attractive design, but it also doesn't need to be. The Winbot is heavy—7.3 pounds—and it's quite large. It measures 13.1 by 11 by 5.3 inches (HWD), and it doesn't come with a carrying or storage case, which would make toting it around much easier.
