Christmas is almost here, and there are plenty of incredible broadband deals up for grabs at the moment.

Picking up a new contract around the holidays can be beneficial, as you’ll know exactly when your contract is up, making it easier to avoid paying any extra for your current plan.

In addition, there are always top deals in and around December, which means you will always be picking up a bargain the next time you switch providers.

Whether it’s a cheap overall plan, reward cards, or no setup fees, we’ve found all the best deals you can find on broadband packages for Christmas 2019.

TL;DR - Our Picks

Best BT Broadband Deals

BT is one of the most consistent and reliable broadband providers in the UK, and you'll be hard-pushed to find an area of the country that can't be provided by BT.

The best deals from BT right now come with a nice reward card, with some rewards even reaching £110. These cards are preloaded with funds you can spend at most merchants that accept Mastercard payment.

Our favourite from these deals is definitely the Ultrafast Fibre 100 plan, costing only £39.99, with average speeds of 145Mbps. Matching the price of BT's Superfast Fibre package, but with better speeds, this plan just makes sense.

Best Virgin Media Deals

Virgin Media continues to cover more of the UK with its ultrafast broadband coverage. Using its own network of cables, Virgin charges less for its high speed packages, with the M100 package now costing only £28 per month, with no setup fees.

Best Vodafone Deals

Vodafone has a few mote options when it comes to home broadband now, with the choice of a 'Gigafast' package also available.

The best deal from Vodafone however comes with its Superfast 2 package, now down to just £23, matching the price of the regular, but slower, Superfast plan.

Best Plusnet Deals

Plusnet is also offering reward cards with its broadband packages at the moment.

The provider can offer some affordable plans that will suit most households. With an average speed of 66Mbps on the Unlimited Fibre Extra plan, there shouldn't be any issue with multiple devices connecting to the service all at once.

Best TalkTalk Deals

There may not be extra gifts with these contracts, but you can't argue with the sheer value of TalkTalk packages.

My Experience

I’ve been freelancing as a tech journalist for several years now, after long wanting to write about my passion for video games. I have bylines on Kotaku and other sites, but PCMag is where you can find most of my musings on gaming, its culture, and where the industry is going next. I also test online services for both businesses and individuals. If you’re interested in hearing me talk about entertainment, film, and TV, you can check out my Patreon and Substack, both under the name “Robby Knows.”

The Technology I Use

Most of the tech I use every day is within the Apple ecosystem. Currently, I rely on a 2025 MacBook Air for computing and dabble in art projects on my 6th-generation iPad Mini. I don't go anywhere without my AirPods Pro 2 in my pocket.

As an avid gamer, you better believe that I always have a controller in my hands if I’m not watching movies or TV. I use my PS5 and Switch 2 equally, depending on what’s the hot new release, and am always trying to find interesting ways to tinker with my Steam Deck.

Given the current state of social media and technology, I find myself going more analog to escape the noise. I have a modest collection of watches, both automatic and digital, to free myself from the pings and notifications of the modern world. I also put my phone in a ySky lockbox for 12 hours every night to reduce my screen time. I spent a lot of the past year trying to read good books rather than scroll through feeds.
