If you're a fan of the Avengers and on the market for a new processors, we have some good news. Intel is set to do a limited run of 10th-generation chips shipped in Avengers-themed packaging.

The last time anyone got excited about Intel's chip packaging is when the company decided to use a dodecahedron box design, which it subsequently dropped due to it being wasteful. However, as PCGamesN reports, Intel processors with a new "KA" designation as part of their code have started appearing on Vietnamese online stores. Notably HanoiComputer and KCCShop. It was then revealed the chips had packaging covered in Avengers artwork and included 'Avengers Edition' as part of their name.

Images, such as the one in the tweet below, have revealed pixelated versions of the chip packaging.

Intel has since confirmed to Tom's Hardware that the KA chips are real, explaining, "The listing reference is related to an upcoming partner promotion featuring 10th Gen Intel Core processors. The “KA” designation is an ordering code only and not a new processor SKU."

Intel also released a statement to PCGamesN explaining, "As you know, Intel announced an exclusive CPU partnership with Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix to deliver the best PC version for Marvel’s Avengers, with its original story made in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment. Working with Intel as the exclusive CPU partner, the new Marvel’s Avengers game has been optimized to run on Intel Core processors to deliver a richer, more immersive gameplay experience."

So rather than being a new line of 10th-gen processors, they are simply the same as the equivalent K chips but in new packaging and the "A" in the designation represents Avengers. Intel is expected to release KA special editions for four processors: the Core i5 10600KA, Core i7 10700KA, Core i9 10850KA, and Core i9 10900KA.

It's unclear exactly where Intel plans to make these special edition processors available beyond the listings already confirming they are heading to Vietnam. We probably won't find out until the promotion becomes official, the final box art is revealed, and pre-orders start. Hopefully the colorful packaging also includes a digital code for a copy of the Avengers game.
