The 2016 Volvo XC90SEE IT is full of firsts. It's the first full redesign for the model since 2003, and the first full vehicle overhaul since the Swedish automaker became Chinese-owned. It's also the first car to use the new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform that will underpin most future Volvo vehicles. And it's the first automobile to feature Volvo's new tablet-like, button-free Sensus Connect infotainment interface. There are plenty of other impressive aspects to the 2016 XC90 as well, including an elegant but understated interior, and innovative infotainment features. It's our Editors' Choice for luxury SUVs.

Pricing and Design

Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, heated mirrors, a hands-free power tailgate, adjustable drive modes, a panoramic sunroof, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, keyless entry and ignition, four-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, eight-way power front seats with power lumbar, driver memory settings, and heated front seats. Technology features include the vertically oriented 9-inch Sensus Connect infotainment interface with navigation, Bluetooth for phone and streaming audio, in-car Wi-Fi and cloud-connected apps, voice activation, and a 10-speaker AM/FM/CD/satellite radio sound system with USB and auxiliary input jacks.
