Ford will start accepting orders for the 2023 model year Mustang Mach-E on Aug. 30, but prospective customers might be surprised by the all-electric SUV's new pricing.
The company says that it's "adjusting the MSRP on the Mustang Mach-E due to significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions" and that it "will continue to monitor pricing across the model year."
Electrek reports that the 2023 model year Mach-E will cost between $2,600 and $8,000 more than the previous model year. The outlet also notes that the conditions Ford cites in its announcement have resulted in higher prices for pretty much every vehicle hitting the market.
But it's not all bad news for wannabe Mach-E owners. Ford says that "starting in the Fall, Premium models built with the Extended Range battery will have a targeted EPA-estimated range of 290 miles on all-wheel drive models, up 13 miles," compared to previous versions.
The company also says that its electric vehicles are proving more popular than ever in the US, with sales increasing by 168.7% across its lineup in July. The Mach-E specifically was up 74.1%, Ford says, which purportedly makes it the second-best selling all-electric SUV in the country.
