It might not cost much, but the Toshiba BDX2200 looks and feels cheap, even compared with similarly priced Blu-ray players.

Toshiba BDX2200 : Angle

Charitably, the BDX2200 looks simple and barebones. Uncharitably, the 1.7 by 16.9 by 7.6-inch player looks cheap. The front is a glossy black that looks uneven compared to slightly more expensive Blu-ray players like the Sony BDP-S380.

Toshiba BDX2200 : Back

The back of the player is barebones, with HDMI and composite (no component) video outputs, coaxial audio output, and USB and Ethernet ports. The lack of component video and optical audio outputs seems like a huge omission, even for a low-end player.

Toshiba BDX2200 : Remote

The back of the player is barebones, with HDMI and composite (no component) video outputs, coaxial audio output, and USB and Ethernet ports. The lack of component video and optical audio outputs seems like a huge omission, even for a low-end player.

Toshiba BDX2200 : Angle

The 7.4-inch remote is similarly underwhelming, with small rubber buttons that feel a tiny bit wiggly, especially the selection button in the direction pad.
