Frigidaire's good-looking Gallery Smart Room Air Conditioner is one of very few app-enabled window ACs currently available. You can control it from afar, it cools quickly, and is one of the best-looking window units we've seen, but it's expensive and has some usability issues.

Once the unit is installed it's time to download the app and create an account.

One of my gripes with the app is that there's no way to tell the current room temperature while the unit is running in Cool mode. You have to turn the AC itself off to do that, which is inconvenient and can't be very good for the compressor. And when you turn the AC back on, it automatically defaults to Econ mode, no matter what mode it was last using.

To access the Scheduling Assistant, swipe upward. You'll be asked to answer a few questions such as when you typically use the room where the AC is installed, what time of day you require cooling, and what settings you prefer.

every so often the app would lose contact with the AC and I'd receive an error message stating that my request was taking longer than expected. This was followed by another message that the app was experiencing communication issues. Each time I was able to reconnect by closing the app and restarting it but it happened often enough to be an annoyance.
