Apple iPhone 8

The Apple iPhone 8 looks a lot like the iPhone 7. It's really hard to tell them apart from the front.

The iPhone 8's glass back enables wireless charging. The 12MP main camera is very similar in performance to the iPhone 7's.

The single camera on the iPhone 8 comes with a new slow-sync flash and better video capture abilities than the iPhone 7.

The iPhone 8 feels round and smooth, like the iPhone 7, although it's a glass sandwich, like the 4 and 5 series.

That's a SIM card slot on the right. Like other iPhones, the iPhone 8 is a single SIM device, with no microSD card slot.

Nope, no headphone jack. Instead, there's a Lightning jack and bottom-ported stereo speakers.

The top is totally smooth.

The phone works with Qi wireless chargers, such as this Mophie pad. You can plug headphones into the Lightning jack while you charge.

The phone is rated IP67 for water resistance.

AR is a big feature for Apple this year, and ARKit apps work on the iPhone 8, even with its single camera.

The iPhone 8 Plus, at left, has a 5.5-inch screen to the iPhone 8's 4.7-inch panel.

On the back, you see the 8 Plus' (left) dual cameras.

The iPhone 8 (left) is almost exactly the same size as the iPhone 7 (right).

The iPhone 8 starts at $699 for a 64GB unit.
