BERLIN—iPhones have always benefited from the widest range of unique accessories on the market. After all, Apple phones are both widespread and fairly standardized across their different models.

Perhaps that's why Olloclip has only released adjustable lens accessories for Apple devices. We previously reviewed the Olloclip Mobile Photography Box Set for the iPhone X, which includes a set of wide-angle and macro lenses, along with a stand. Similar lens systems are available for the iPhone 8, iPhone 7, and even the iPhone SE, but no Android devices are supported.

Olloclip 2That's set to change today here at IFA with the debut of the Multi-Device Clip, which brings Android compatibility to Olloclip's Connect X lenses.

"We designed the Multi-Device Clip to serve the greatest range of smartphones, including those with a screen protector or thin case, for ultimate versatility," said Todd Williams, global sales director at Olloclip.

As the name suggests, the Multi-Device Clip incorporates an expandable clip that sits flush with the camera and lens, allowing you to use the Connect X interchangeable lenses. It can work with screen protectors and smartphone cases up to 12mm in combined thickness.

All the Connect X lenses are supported. This includes the super-wide angle 120-degree lens, the ultra-wide 155-degree lens, and the telephoto 2X optical zoom lens. That's not all; support also extends to the fish-eye and macro lens for a 180-degree view with some barrel distortion, the macro 7X+14x lens to zoom in on details, and the macro 21X lens, which Olloclip claims "turns your phone into a microscope."

Aside from allowing quick lens swaps, the Multi-Device Clip can switch from the front- to rear-facing camera in a few seconds.

We don't have a full list of all the Android devices the Multi-Device Clip will work with yet, but product photos show it working with high-end Android smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S9, OnePlus 6, and Google Pixel 2.

The Multi-Device Clip will be available online starting in mid-September. It can be purchased and paired with any one of the aforementioned Connect X lenses for $59.99. Additional Connect X lenses are available for $44.99. The clip can also be purchased standalone for those who already own Connect X lenses, though pricing hasn't been specified yet.
