The Bullet HD 1080 is a heavy-duty, 1.8-pound weatherproof surveillance camera.

The Bullet HD 1080 is a camera an IT enthusiast might enjoy, since it supports things like Power over Ethernet (PoE) with some extra work, but it's not for those who just want to set up surveillance quickly.

Setup requires plugging the Bullet HD into your wired network first, using the Ethernet dongle at the end of the thick cable on the back of the camera.

It comes with an adjustable base you can screw into a wall or ceiling.

Y-Cam Setup is the only way to learn the Bullet HD 1080's new IP address; there's also a version for the Mac.

The basic Bullet HD 1080 video stream appears in your Web browser showing a crisp video, with links to all settings.

There's some occasional oddness as you surf through the settings, like these typos that that show up when you save video (which always goes to the root directory, unfortunately).

This doesn't look like a fancy screen images, because it was caught on an iPhone using Safari to access the Bullet HD's IP address, which defaulted to full-screen streaming video.
