It's Christmas in July for Netflix: The company this week wracked up a cool 54 Emmy nominations, behind only HBO (94) and FX (56) in total nods for 2016.

Netflix beats rival Amazon Video by 38 nominations, while also showing up most network and cable channels.

Compared to last year, when Amazon and Netflix topped a small list of online programs recognized by the Television Academy, the category grew in 2016 to include more websites and subscription services, including Crackle (3), Funny or Die (2), Hulu (2), and Vimeo (1).

It also marked a 59 percent increase for Netflix and 33 percent jump for Amazon; HBO, meanwhile, dropped 25 percent, Business Insider reports.

"Television dominates the entertainment conversation and is enjoying the most spectacular run in its history with breakthrough creativity, emerging platforms and dynamic new opportunities for our industry's storytellers," Television Academy CEO Bruce Rosenblum said in a statement alongside Thursday's Emmy announcement.

That's certainly true of Netflix: Juggernaut House of Cards, which aired its fourth season in March, earned a whopping 13 nominations (that's one for each episode). Original documentaries Making a Murderer and What Happened, Miss Simone? captured six nods each, while Aziz Ansari's new Master of None snagged four (including two for the episode "Parents," in which Ansari's own folks guest starred). The acclaimed Bloodline got two acting nominations—Kyle Chandler (lead actor) and Ben Mendelsohn (supporting actor)—just a day after Netflix renewed the family drama for a third season.

Left out of the fun (besides a casting nod) was Netflix's Orange is the New Black, which won Uzo Aduba an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series statue last year and an Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series award in 2014. It was also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series in 2015.

Amazon's Transparent, meanwhile, nabbed 10 nods for production design, casting, series, costumes, directing, lead actor (Jeffrey Tambor), supporting actress (Judith Light and Gaby Hoffmann), and guest star (Bradley Whitford and Melora Hardin).

Neither Netflix nor Amazon immediately responded to PCMag's request for comment.

The 68th Emmy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, will air on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 7 to 11 p.m. ET on ABC.
