Chevrolet used the North American International Auto Show to show off its latest electric vehicle innovations, the Bolt EV concept and the 2016 Chevrolet Volt.

The new Volt will travel for 50 miles before switching over to its gas-powered range extender, up from just 38 miles with the original Volt. The overall range of the Volt, meanwhile, is increasing to 420 miles, compared to 350 miles with the original Volt.

The all-electric Bolt concept, meanwhile, has some self-driving components, but it's not expected to arrive until at least 2017.
