Pros & Cons

Feeling the bumps and jolts of intergalactic space travel brings a new level of reality to these two programs for kids aged 5 to 8, as they accompany Katie Cadet on her imaginary adventures through outer space. A tactile mouse is needed for the force-feedback feature, but the eight adventures in each game are great fun even without it.

Kids must solve logic puzzles, test hypotheses, and properly sequence and estimate numerical challenges to retrieve missing interplanetary ambassadors in Alien Space Chase and to find the missing crown jewels in Royal Jewel Rescue. And when Katie comes back down to earth, they get to meet her real-life friends along with her nemesis, Victor. Altogether, this is the most imaginative new entry we've seen in the current year's lineup.
