MozyHome 2.0 : Start Setup
Setup has been greatly simplified in MozyHome 2.0.
MozyHome 2.0 : Auto-selected Backup Set
After entering my username and password established on the Mozy site, I didn’t have to do anything to see this list of preselected backup candidates. On a later screen, I could change what I wanted backed up, but it would be nice to see that option here.
MozyHome 2.0 : Setup Complete!
I like how I’m told how long my intial backup processing and uploading will take.
MozyHome 2.0 : Backup Sets
On this tab of the Mozy Settings window, you can choose which file types will be backed up.
MozyHome 2.0 : Taskbar Tooltip
When you start your first online backup processing and uploading session, you’ll see this tooltip pop up from the Windows task bar.
MozyHome 2.0 : Right-Click Context Menu
Mozy adds choices to your Windows Explorer’s context menus that show up when you right-click on a folder or file entry. If the file’s already included in your online backup set, you’ll see an option to restore versions.
MozyHome 2.0 : Status
Choosing Status from the program’s system notification icon brings up this dialog, which tells you when the last backup completed and gives you the option to immediately initiate another backup.
MozyHome 2.0 : Backup Progress
During a backup, you can see what the software is up to in the status dialog: How many files left, the current file being processed, and you get an option to pause the activity if you find your net connection slowing down.
MozyHome 2.0 : Restoring Files
You can restore your whole backup set or any part of it from this tab on the MozyHome user interface. To pick specific previous versions of backed up files, I recommend using the Windows Explorer right-click context menu choice that Mozy adds.
MozyHome 2.0 : Restoring Progress
The status dialog shows progress and lets you stop the procedure during a restore operation.
