The Samsung Stratosphere is currently Verizon's only keyboarded 4G LTE smartphone. It's a solid handset, but both better Android and 4G options are available.

Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon Wireless): Front

The Samsung Stratosphere measures 5.0 by 2.5 by 0.6 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.8 ounces.

Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon Wireless): Keyboard

The Stratosphere slides open to reveal a large, five-row physical keyboard. The keys are slightly raised, and while the spacing took some getting used to, frequent messagers should be pleased.

Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon Wireless): Camera

The Stratosphere's 5-megapixel camera features auto-focus and an LED flash. Test photos look pretty good, with accurate colors and a reasonable amount of detail.

Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon Wireless): Angle

The Stratosphere's 4-inch, 800-by-480-pixel Super AMOLED display is gorgeous. The screen can get incredibly bright, but darker colors maintain their depth and richness.

Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon Wireless): Left

Inside, the Stratosphere is packing the same 1GHz Cortex A8-based Hummingbird CPU found in the Samsung Droid Charge as well as a dozen Galaxy S handsets over the past year. It's still plenty fast, but it's getting a bit long in the tooth, especially compared to devices with dual-core chipsets like the Droid Bionic.

Samsung Stratosphere (Verizon Wireless): Angle

The Stratosphere runs Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) with Samsung's TouchWiz UI layer.
