Main Window
You won't notice much change from last year in the main window of Symantec Norton Security Deluxe. Most of the updates in this edition involve new layers of malware detection and defense.
Online Management
The online Norton account is where you manage your product installations. If you have licenses remaining, you can download the product from here. The tabs for mobile devices include a link to anti-theft features.
Intrusion Prevention
Symantec's standalone antivirus includes intrusion prevention. In the suite, you get a full two-way firewall as well.
Automatic Control
In addition to blocking outside hack attacks, Norton's firewall manages network permissions for all programs. By default, it does so automatically.
Expand Protection
Your five licenses can be used to protect Windows, Android, macOS, and iOS devices. Just send an email to the account associated with the device. Clicking that link automatically selects the correct download for the platform.
Android Protection
Norton's Android security app is an Editors' Choice on its own. It includes antivirus, anti-theft, and app advice, among other features.
App Advice
Right in the Google Play store, Norton checks any app you tap and reports on its risk level. Tapping the risk level banner gets the more detailed report shown here.
Contact Backup
On both Android and iOS, Norton can back up contacts to the cloud and restore them to the same device or a different device.
Android Anti-Theft
From the online console, you can locate, lock, or wipe an Android device, make it sound a loud alarm, or snap a photo of whoever is using it. When you lock the device, it automatically snaps a photo every ten minutes and sends its location ever five minutes.
Limited iOS Support
If you lose your iOS device, you can locate it or sound the alarm, but not lock or wipe it. An option to place an Internet call to the device only works if it's turned on and unlocked.
