Fire the nanny, drop the cat sitter, and reclaim your keys from the neighbor: home robot Kuri is taking over.

Unveiled at CES, the adorable android from Mayfield Robotics comes with personality, awareness, and mobility for $699. It's built to connect with humans via context and surroundings, recognizing specific people and responding to questions with facial expressions, head movements, and sounds.

CES 2017 Bug"For generations, people have dreamed of having their own personal robot in the home, and we've been focused on making that dream more of a reality," Sarah Osentoski, COO of Mayfield Robotics, a Bosch startup from Redwood City, Calif., said in a statement.

Available now to pre-order, Kuri features a built-in 1080p camera, four microphones and dual speakers, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, various sensors for mapping and detecting objects, programmable tasks and IFTTT capabilities, and "hours" of battery life, plus a charging dock.

The robot stands at 20 inches tall and weighs in around 14 pounds; control it via and iOS/Android app.

"While insanely cute on the outside, Kuri contains serious technologies on the inside that represent the latest developments in smartphones, gaming, and robotics," said Mayfield CTO Kaijen Hsiao. "We hope Kuri introduces people—especially kids—to the power of technology and can inspire a new world of possibilities for their future."

A $100 deposit is required with purchase; the balance will be collected when Kuri ships later this year.
