Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles depicts the fall of Umbrella in a 20-plus-hour action-packed montage. The story revisits familiar scenarios from The Original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil 0, and a totally new area that places you at the center of Umbrella's headquarters in Russia. The gameplay is more reminiscent of the Gun Survivor series than, say, Resident Evil 4, featuring on-the-rails shooting action, but it also has loads more depth. You can fly solo in the game or team up with a buddy in two-player co-op mode. The story flows at a steady pace and never gets dull. The graphics could be smoother in some areas, but as a whole, they fit the mood well. While it's disappointing that RE 2 and 4 scenarios were left out (two of the best entries in the series), the numerous side quests, upgradeable weapons, and co-op play will have fans of the franchise in pure nirvana as they revisit some of the series' best moments from a whole new perspective.
