PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (for PC)

At the start of each match, you can explore an abandoned airfield before flying over the map.

There are currently two playable maps, Erangel and Miramar, but both are large enough that you won't see the same places very often. The plane follows the same flight path, so it's easy to plan out a route beforehand.

Before taking on any densely-populated areas, you should pick up as many weapons and as much armor as you can find.

While roaming during the match, you need to keep an eye out for red zones, in which explosions litter the landscape. The visual effects look spectacular, but I wouldn't recommend getting too close.

You can hop into a variety of vehicles across the map, including this versatile dune buggy. However, the engine noise can attract enemies, so if you hear gunfire, don't stop.

The most disappointing aspects of Erangel are the dull and blurry textures used for its building exteriors and structures.

Some areas feature high-rise buildings and industrial complexes, with lots of weapons and inventory items, but these locations also tend to attract the most enemy players.

Whatever you do, stay within the blue circle. Outside of the safe zone, your health quickly drains, and it's often difficult to make it back before it's gone completely.
