AMD to Release Drivers via Valve's Steam

It's an idea so obvious, we can't believe that no one thought of it before now: Why not get your video card's driver from the same place you get your games, rather than having to download it separately from the manufacturer's Web site? This is exactly what AMD is doing. The company announced today that, effective immediately, it will release all its Catalyst video card drivers using the Steam game purchasing and download service.

AMD releases Catalyst updates every month; the current driver version is 10.8. The hope is that this will make it easier for owners of AMD video cards to keep their drivers up to date with the latest performance enhancements for all sorts of gaming and graphic productivity titles.
