The Czech Republic has refused to allow Google to expand its Street View program, according to reports.

The Czech Office for Personal Data Protection, refused Google's efforts to expand the data-collection program in April, according to the Associated Press, without elaborating.

Google said it "hope[s] that the issues will be solved in the near future," and wouldn't collect any new data in the meantime.

Although the EU asked Google for more Street View privacy in February, matters came to a head in May, when Google acknowledged that its Street View cars had sniffed local Wi-Fi networks as they passed by, something that Google acknowledged was a mistake, and apologized for. Google later agreed to hand over Street View data, but faced scrutiny in Italy and in the U.K..
