In October 2009, Apple revamped the Apple TV interface to version 3.0, adding "Genius" recommendations to the interface. But the device has remained relatively static since its launch in 2007.
Engadget also claimed that the iTV won't support 1080p video, just the 720p format Apple currently supplies via its Apple Store. If so, that's a real disappointment, as customers will be able to switch on over to the cable box for a true HD show. Apple currently sells HD releases for $3.99-$4.99, and SD titles for $2.99 and $3.99.
