The launch of Google Buzz might not have been as successful as the search engine giant had hoped, but Google wants to make it clear that it's not giving up on the service. Google on Tuesday announced that it has expanded the way that Buzz content feeds into Social Search.

Google rolled out Social Search to all users in January. The feature incorporates content from your social circle, helping to customize your search results. Social Search pulls results from a number of social sites with public content, including YouTube, Blogger, and Picasa.

The service now also pulls content from the Buzz tab of a user's Google Profile. "We're expanding Social Search using public links appearing in the 'Buzz' tab of your Google Profile," a Google spokesperson said. "These links come from public connected sites in Buzz, such as Twitter, Picasa, and Google Reader."

Users can connect the aforementioned services to Buzz via the Connected Sites tab in that service.

Whether or not this is related to the rumored "Google Me" social networking service remains to be seen.
