Samsung today unveiled its new flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S2, which will arrive worldwide next month.

The super thin and light device sports a Super AMOLED 2,048-by-1,536-pixel display. Adaptive Display technology auto-adjusts gamma, saturation, and sharpness based on your environment, and Reading Mode modifies the screen's brightness levels, so you won't strain your eyes trying to read Harper Lee's latest novel.

"The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features," Samsung Mobile Division CEO JK Shin said in a statement.

When you're finished catching up on saved articles and your favorite Twitter feeds, tap into the pre-loaded Microsoft Office Solutions suite, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

"We believe the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the most complete personal visual device designed for consumers to carry and use anywhere," Shin said.

Powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop and an octa-core (1.9GHz + 1.3GHz) processor, the tablet features an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2.1-megapixel front shooter, as well as 3GB RAM and a 5,870mAh battery.

The tablet also includes a Fingerprint Scanner and is pre-installed with anti-malware for another layer of protection.

Similar to the upcoming iOS 9 split-screen feature for iPad, the Tab S2 runs the dual-app Pop-Up Window, allowing users to navigate between multiple applications at once.

The 8-inch and 9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 models arrive in August in 32GB or 64GB flavors, with room for up to 128GB additional storage via microSD card. Consumers can also choose between a Wi-Fi and LTE version, or Wi-Fi only.
