Mark your calendars and start booking your plane tickets—Google I/O is officially set for May 28-29 at San Francisco's Moscone Convention Center.

Google announced the dates for its annual developer conference on Tuesday with the sudden appearance of a new dedicated site for I/O 2015. Registration for the event kicks off on March 17 at 12 p.m. Eastern and you'd better set an alert for that date if you want to attend—this an event that historically sells out within hours of registration opening.

So far, there's not a lot of information to share about what's being planned for Google's big developer showcase. The company has posted a barebones schedule on the I/O 2015 site—you'll be happy to learn that lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on both days of the event, but if you're looking for solid info on the sessions and workshops taking place, it appears you'll have to wait.

What we can tell you is that Google has a tradition of launching some pretty cool new products at I/O. This is the conference, after all, where Google Glass was unveiled, where the Nexus 7 made its first appearance, and where Chromebooks first became a thing. And those are only the showstoppers—every year the Internet giant also rolls out tweaks, upgrades, and overhauls to core software products like Android, Chrome, Maps, Google+, and more which are detailed and workshopped with developers at Google I/O.

So expect something or multiple somethings big at this year's Google I/O. In the meantime, if you want to get a taste of the major goings-on at last year's, check out the slideshow above. And be sure to check out PCMag's coverage of the event itself in May.
