Are you feeling a little blue? Bored? In need of a good face lick? Uber could have just the thing.

In advance of this weekend's Super Bowl and the accompanying Puppy Bowl, the app-based car service is delivering on-demand puppies.

Yes, you heard that right. In 10 cities around the U.S., you can now use the Uber app to request that Uber bring you some dogs to play with; $30 gets you 15 minutes, and using the PUPPYBOWL2015 promo code will get you $20 off your first Uber ride if you're new to the app.

Uber Puppy Bowl at Visit BaltimoreIt's only in effect today from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. local time in Atlanta, Baltimore, Cleveland, Dallas, D.C., Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Seattle. In D.C., enter the "DCpuppies" code to unlock the option.

If you're concerned about the safety of these pups, Uber has teamed up with Animal Planet and local rescue organizations for the stunt, and all the doggies who make an appearance will be up for adoption. Meanwhile, "every dollar from your visit is donated directly to the participating organization in your city," Uber said.

That includes the Arizona Humane Society, Atlanta Humane Society, BARCS Baltimore, Cleveland Animal Protective League, Dallas Animal Services, Denver Dumb Friends League, Humane Society of Indianapolis, Wags and Walks LA, PAWS Seattle, and the Washington Area Rescue League.

Some of the puppies made a stop at Visit Baltimore (pictured above), but check out some of the pups making the rounds in the pics below.

This is not Uber's first time providing on-demand cuddles; it has also delivered kittens.

My Experience

I started out covering tech policy in DC for The National Journal, where my beat included state-level tech news and all the congressional hearings and FCC meetings I could handle. I later covered Wall Street trading tech before switching gears to consumer tech. I now lead PCMag's news coverage.

My Areas of Expertise

Getting my start in DC means I still have a soft spot for tech policy; Congressional hearings can sometimes be as entertaining as a Bravo reality show, for better or worse. But PCMag is all about the technology we use every day, as well as keeping an eye out for the trends that will shape the industry in the years ahead (or flop on arrival). I've covered the rise of social media, the iOS vs. Android wars, the cord-cutting revolution that's now left us with hefty streaming bills, and the effort to stuff artificial intelligence into every product you could imagine. This job has taken me to CES in Vegas (one too many times), IFA in Berlin, and MWC in Barcelona. I also drove a Tesla 1,000 miles out west as part of our Best Mobile Networks project. Of late, my focus is on our hard-working team of reporters at PCMag, guiding and editing their robust coverage.
