Facebook has launched yet another standalone app, this time for Groups.

The official Groups app makes it easier for users to more quickly share news, photos, and other content with separate crowds.

In a blog post, product manager Shirley Sun said the new app was designed for those who use Groups most often. People like students from Chicago arts nonprofit Donda's House, who keep in touch during and after a 12-week music program.

Or the class of dental students in Brazil who created a group to post notes and reminders about upcoming tests. There is even a group of nine friends spread across Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and England who stay connected via a Facebook group.

Once downloaded, just open the app to find all of your Facebook Groups in one place; those that you visit most frequently will be arranged at the top. Move between groups seamlessly, and tap "Create" to start a new one. Users can also track and control notifications

The Discover tab also offers group suggestions, based on Pages you've liked, groups your friends are in, and those nearby. Perhaps there is a cooking club down the road, or a neighborhood book group in which you'd like to participate.

Unlike its Messenger app, Facebook is not forcing users to cross over to the application (yet). You can still use Facebook Groups in the main app and on the desktop.

Download the free iOS and Android Groups applications now from the iTunes App Store and Google Play store, respectively.
