If you read the headline of this article and got scared that you missed a major tech announcement, don't fret – Apple still hasn't unveiled its much-rumored iPhone 6. But that hasn't stopped luxury brand Brikk from showing off its blingy version of Apple's next-generation handset.

Brikk on Monday announced that it will offer 14 high-end versions of the expected 4.7-inch 128GB iPhone, including models constructed of 24-carat yellow gold, 24-carat pink gold, and pure platinum. If that's not flashy enough, you can add over a carat of "perfect white diamonds" to embellish the Apple logo on the back of the device.

Brikk Gold iPhone 6"Each piece is disassembled inside Brikk's state-of-the-art laboratory in Los Angeles, USA by a team of highly skilled engineers," according to Brikk's release. "They are hand polished, prepared and plated with five layers of diverse metals before their final plating in either two layers of gold or platinum."

The snazzy handsets are available for pre-order now, but you better have some seriously deep pockets if you want one. Prices range from $4,495 for the plated models to $8,395 for the plated diamond logo models, and you'll need to put down a non-refundable $500 deposit to even place your pre-order. The devices are expected to ship 3 to 4 weeks after the iPhone's official release.

"The iPhone 6 is expected to break all previous sales records: its novel features are already establishing its precedent as a coveted status symbol for consumers of both luxury and utility goods," Brikk said. "Brikk's Lux luxury line aims to afford unmatched opulence to exclusive clientele worldwide."

Those "novel features" are still just rumors at this point, something Brikk acknowledges on its pre-order page. "Brikk does not guarantee the specs of the phone or the look and feel of the phone," it says.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment; it has made no announcements about its next-gen smartphones.

Apple is widely expected to unveil two new smartphones this fall: a 4.7-inch handset, and a 5.5-inch model, though the larger handset may be delayed due to production issues. The handsets will likely sport super-durable sapphire crystal displays, which are practically indestructible.

My Experience

I'm PCMag's managing editor for consumer electronics, overseeing an experienced team of analysts covering smart home, home entertainment, wearables, fitness and health tech, and various other product categories. I have been with PCMag for more than 10 years, and in that time have written more than 6,000 articles and reviews for the site. I previously served as an analyst focused on smart home and wearable devices, and before that I was a reporter covering consumer tech news. I'm also a yoga instructor, and have been actively teaching group and private classes for nearly a decade.

Prior to joining PCMag, I was a reporter for SC Magazine, focusing on hackers and computer security. I earned a BS in journalism from West Virginia University, and started my career writing for newspapers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

The Technology I Use

My little Florida beach bungalow is brimming with smart home tech. I have a smart speaker or display in every room, allowing me to control other connected devices by voice. The Nest Hub on my bedside table lets me set wake-up alarms, control my smart light bulbs, and set the temperature on my smart thermostat. I use the Amazon Echo Show 8 on my kitchen counter to browse recipes, reorder protein powder, check the weather, and watch the news while I do dishes.

Because I suffer from allergies, air purifiers are essential. My favorite model is the Dyson Purifier Cool TP07, which doubles as a fan and continuously sends indoor pollution data to its companion mobile app.

My pitbull Bradley sheds, so a good robot vacuum is a must. I currently use a premium Ecovacs Deebot that can both vacuum and mop, empty its own dustbin, and wash its own mop cloth.

For fitness, I like to mix up my routine with cycling, indoor rowing, running, and strength training in addition to yoga. I take classes on the Tonal 2 smart strength training machine, I row indoors on an Aviron machine, and track my beach runs with an Apple Watch while listening to music on my Apple AirPods Pro. On the weekends, I love riding e-bikes like the rugged, beach-friendly Aventon Aventure for fun and fitness.

My job involves a lot of virtual meetings, so a quality webcam, microphone, and ring light are important. I use the Jabra PanaCast 20 webcam, the Elgato Wave: 3 microphone, and a Yesker tripod ring light.

As for my preferred phone platform, I'm an iPhone person, but I've also extensively used Android for product testing.
