Consumers who thought that the Xbox One's initial price was too high can stop complaining now. As promised last month, Microsoft is now selling the Xbox One - without the Kinect sensor - for $399.

The new bundle is now available for those who want the Xbox experience but can live without the motion controls provided by the Kinect.

A standalone Kinect for Xbox One will be available later this fall for those with buyer's remorse.

The price drop puts the Xbox One more in line with rival device PlayStation 4, which sells for $399 and has so far been more popular than the Xbox One, though Microsoft's console isn't exactly hurting for sales.

PlayStation owners can purchase the PlayStation Camera for $60, but PCMag's review found that it lacks features and functionality when compared to Kinect, such as the access to Skype and support for games that use the camera.
