Ubisoft is a fan of Microsoft's plan to sell Kinect-less Xbox One consoles for $399.

During a recent earnings call, studio CEO Yves Guillemot said that he is "extremely happy" about the price cut, which puts Redmond's machine on par with the Sony PlayStation 4 at an "affordable price."

"We expect the next-gen to grow faster thanks to that," Guillemot said, as reported by Gamespot. "Customers will have the possibility to buy either with or without [Kinect] and that will be a very positive thing for the industry."

It also means the possibility of more sales for Ubisoft, which this week announced the Nov. 18 U.S. launch date of the long-awaited Far Cry 4. The game will reach Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on Nov. 20.

The follow-up to 2012's Far Cry 3, the new installment drops players in Kyrat, "a breathtaking, perilous and wild" region of the Himalayas, currently struggling under a self-appointed king. Using a battery of weapons, vehicles, and animals, "players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape," the Ubisoft site said.

Fans who pre-order the title now will get a free limited-edition upgrade, featuring three extra story missions. Available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, the game is on sale via GameStop, Amazon, Uplay, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy.

"Following the success of Far Cry 3, we wanted to take the franchise to the next level and create a game that will surprise players and exceed fans' expectations," executive producer Dan Hay said in a statement. "Given the unique setting, we feel Far Cry 4 will stand out as a top first-person shooter and we're eager to reveal more about the game in the coming months."

More details and an exclusive first look at the title will be unveiled during next month's E3 gaming conference.
