LG this week announced three new G Pad series tablets, each of which will be unveiled at this week's MedPI 2014 trade show in Monaco.

The G Pad 7.0, 8.0, and 10.1 join the G Pad 8.3, revealed last September, in LG's growing tablet portfolio.

"Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability. Unlike smartphones, tablets are not 'one size fits all'," LG CEO Jong-seok Park said in a statement.

With that in mind, the manufacturer will add the hand-held 7-inch G Pad, meant for on-the-go entertainment and productivity; its 8-inch sibling, which promises smooth multitasking; and the largest of the bunch, the 10.1-inch tablet for movie-watching and game play.

"We designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts," Park said.

Each of the new slates includes LG's QPair 2.0 for connecting with an Android-powered smartphone via Bluetooth, and Knock Code, which allows users to power on and unlock their device via a personalized "knock" pattern.

LG revealed no further specs or launch information, simply stating that additional details will be announced locally in the next few weeks.

It is unclear how much of a departure these tablets will be from the G Pad 8.3, which sports a 1,920-by-1,200 resolution display with 273 pixels per inch, as well as a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter. That slate is powered by a 1.7GHz, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 4,600mAh battery.

There is more than just tablets on LG's docket: The company will reveal its new LG G3 handset and the Android Wear-based G Watch during a May 27 event in London. So far there's been no official confirmation, however, of whether the recently leaked photos of a gilded G3 handset are the real deal.

PCMag will be in London and New York for the company's unveiling, so stay tuned for more details on May 27.
