Hewlett-Packard is planning to follow up on its just-released first TouchPad tablet with a "white glossy" model due out in August that sports a more powerful processor and 64GB of internal storage, according to leaked HP product roadmap slides published Monday by Pre Central.

HP officially released 16GB and 32GB versions of the 9.7-inch, Wi-Fi-only TouchPad running webOS on July 1. The 16GB version of the tablet is priced at $499.99, while the 32GB model carries a $599.99 sticker price with availability on HP's website and through reseller partners.

The slides, sent to Pre Central by an unnamed source, also appear to confirm HP's plans to release a 32GB TouchPad with support for AT&T's 4G HSPA+ network in the same August timeframe. It was previously believed that the first TouchPads with an AT&T data plan would be labeled as 3G.

HP also has a third-quarter release in mind for two more new products, the Pre3 smartphone and the "Opal," the codename for a 7-inch version of the TouchPad (the 10-inch tablet was previously codenamed Topaz).

Pre Central theorized that the Pre3 could still be released in Europe this summer to hit a previously announced launch target, with U.S. availability to begin in the fall. The site also guessed that the 7-inch Opal tablet could be branded the "TouchPad7."

The 9.7-inch TouchPad has a 1,024-by-768 capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2GHz, dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. There are "rumblings" that the faster processor for the 64GB TouchPad mentioned in the leaked roadmap slides is a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon, according to Pre Central.

The currently available TouchPads have a 1.3-megapixel webcam that supports video calls, Beats Audio technology, and stereo speakers. The 1.6-pound TouchPad is 13.7mm thick and includes Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, as well as a gyroscope, accelerometer, and compass.

PCMag unboxed the TouchPad this week and here's the full review.
