Verizon Wireless said Thursday that it is adding the soon-to-be-released, 4G-enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with Android Honeycomb to its product lineup—and yes, we now have some prices to talk about.

Verizon said in a statement that it will be selling the 16GB version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 for $529.99 and the 32GB model for $629.99. That pricing includes a two-year customer agreement with the carrier.

"The tablet market is exploding as customers are discovering new uses for the technology that features a large screen, powerful processing speeds and access to Android Market's 200,000 applications," said Jeff Dietel, vice president of marketing for Verizon Wireless, in a statement.

"The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is perfect for customers who want to take advantage of Google's new movie rental option and view their favorite film on-the-go."

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be made available for pre-orders on Verizon's website on June 8, Verizon said The tablet some industry watchers think could prove to be the toughest competitor yet for Apple's iPad 2 comes with either a Metallica Gray or Glossy White finish.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 has already turned up on Best Buy's site.

PCMag's Michael Muchmore got his hands on a review model at last month's Google I/O conference in San Francisco. PCMag Mobile Lead Analyst Sascha Segan put an even earlier, pre-Honeycomb unit through its paces back in February

The 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab is actually lighter at 1.25 pounds than the 9.5-inch iPad 2, which weighs in at 1.33 pounds. The Samsung tablet also has a 1,280-by-800 HD display that can play full 1080p HD video (maxing out at 30 frames per second) as compared to the iPad 2's 1,024-by-768 display.

Powered by Nvidia's dual-core, 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 comes in 16GB and 32GB flavors. It has an 3-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2-megapixel camera on the front, Bluetooth, and Verizon's units come loaded with Adobe Flash Player.

Verizon also will offer optional accessories like a full-sized keyboard dock and a multimedia docking stating, the company said.
