Fox News and the Discovery Channel are back on Time Warner Cable's iPad app, leaving Viacom as the only major programmer still not taking part in the streaming live television service, reports Multichannel News.

In addition to Fox's National Geographic Channel, FX and the Fox News Channel, Time Warner Cable has added the Discovery Channel, TLC and Animal Planet to its stable of streaming TV available to iPad users, director of digital communications Jeff Simmermon announced in a series of Friday blog posts.

Earlier in the week, Time Warner Cable added the Sundance Channel, Wedding Central, Lifetime Real Women and the Military History Channel to its TWCable TV app lineup.

It's been a whirlwind April for the media conglomerate's iPad app business. Last week, TW Cable tacked on seven more channels to its streaming TV offering: Oxygen, Lifetime, History International, Biography, History en Espanol, Crime and Investigation Network and Reelz.

TW Cable launched its iPad app in mid-March with 32 live channels available for subscribers to view on their Apple iPads. But by the end of the month, the conglomerate had removed a number of channels from its iPad app service following a backlash from several programmers.

Pulled from the list of channels were Fox's FX and National Geographic Channel, Discovery's Animal Planet, TLC and Discovery Channel, and Viacom's BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nick, Spike and VH1. Now the Viacom channels remain the only ones still unavailable on TW Cable's iPad app.

Simmermon didn't indicate how TW Cable had reached an agreement with Fox and Discovery or whether a new deal for Viacom content was also in the works.
