Teenagers are apparently eager to get their hands on the Apple iPad, but why not go a little younger? According to reports, Toys "R" Us will be the next retailer to sell the Apple tablet.

A Toys "R" Us employee told modmyi.com that the toy store will start selling the iPad 2 next month. That employee reportedly supplied the blog with a photo of an employee training guide used to prep workers for the launch.

That guide said Toys "R" Us will also have the Smart Cover, the iPad Camera Connection Kit, and a VGA connector on sale.

Toys "R" Us did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The iPad 2 is now available via the Apple store and Web site, as well as Best Buy, Target, Walmart, RadioShack, and Verizon and AT&T stores.

Apple has not released exact sales figures for the iPad 2 yet, but all signs point to a successful launch. Fans lined up for hours on launch day, hoping to nab Apple's slimmer, faster tablet, and wait times online quickly ballooned to four to five weeks. They are now back down to two to three weeks, but the iPad 2 is still in short supply at some retailers. It recently launched in 25 more countries and Apple is expected to make it available in even more locations throughout the year.

My Experience

I started out covering tech policy in DC for The National Journal, where my beat included state-level tech news and all the congressional hearings and FCC meetings I could handle. I later covered Wall Street trading tech before switching gears to consumer tech. I now lead PCMag's news coverage.

My Areas of Expertise

Getting my start in DC means I still have a soft spot for tech policy; Congressional hearings can sometimes be as entertaining as a Bravo reality show, for better or worse. But PCMag is all about the technology we use every day, as well as keeping an eye out for the trends that will shape the industry in the years ahead (or flop on arrival). I've covered the rise of social media, the iOS vs. Android wars, the cord-cutting revolution that's now left us with hefty streaming bills, and the effort to stuff artificial intelligence into every product you could imagine. This job has taken me to CES in Vegas (one too many times), IFA in Berlin, and MWC in Barcelona. I also drove a Tesla 1,000 miles out west as part of our Best Mobile Networks project. Of late, my focus is on our hard-working team of reporters at PCMag, guiding and editing their robust coverage.
